DRUMMERS CRASH (BOOM, BANG) COURSE

Thursday of each month.

Beginners
This 4 week program taught by Donn Bennett will get you
on the fast track to playing the drums. Participants will learn to play beats
and fills on the drum set while developing fundamental drumming skills. Equal
parts fun and learning. No experience necessary. Limit, 8 participants.
DOUBLE BASS DRUMMING CLASS
Date: Thursdays,
April 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th

Learn to
play double bass drums like a pro!! Chase Culp (Point One,
James Byrd) will lead the class through double bass
exercises, techniques, and styles that will get your feet
rockin'! Subjects covered include exercises for speed,
endurance, and balance, Double Bass Grooves and ideas,
Broken Double Bass Beats, Beginning Blast Beats, Left and
right foot coordination exercises, Fills using double bass
and Style and Analysis of the greatest Double Bass Players.
SUMMER DRUMSET INTENSIVE
Date: 7/21-25, Mon-Fri
Time: 10:00am to 4:00pm

Beginners,
Intermediate, and Advanced. This is the 7th year for this
extremely popular camp. Chase Culp will teach topics including
Drumset History, Basic Musicianship, Technique, Tuning, Grooves
from several styles, Playing with a rhythm section, Double bass
drumming and Chart reading. Students will also get to experience
playing with a live band. Several guest instructors (to be
announced) will teach portions of the program. Previous guest
instructors have included Kenny Aronoff, Billy Ward, Alan White,
Michael Shrieve, Davis Martin, Kenny MacDougal, Wade Reeves, and
Michael Derosier.
Must have
minimum drum set skills.
SUMMER ROCK CAMP 2008

So you
wanna be a Rockstar? Here’s your chance to play in a rock
band!! Players with basic understanding of the Guitar, Bass,
Drums, Keyboards, and Vocals will learn how to combine their
talents and perform as a band. Instructors Eric Snyder and
Chase Culp (Point One) cover a range of topics including
rhythm section, dynamics, songwriting, soloing, music
business and rehearsal techniques. Guest artists (to be
announced) will teach segments on topics including music
business, musicianship, recording, and more.
Past
guests instructors have included Peter Klett (from the
multi-platinum band Candlebox), Alan White (Yes, John
Lennon), Michael Derosier (Heart), Keith Wright (Guitarist
for Point One, Brandi Carlile).
Students will also receive group and private instruction
during the week on their instrument. Each band will have a
professional rehearsal room equipped with a full PA, Amps,
and Drumset.
The
camp is very hands-on. Everyone gets plenty of performance
time. On the final day of the camp all participants will
perform in concert for friends and family at Studio Seven in
Seattle, one of Seattle’s most popular concert venues.

We offer private
lessons for drummers and aspiring drummers of all ages. We have a great
group of teachers that cover all styles of drumming, you can meet our

Michael
Shrieve Private Lessons
Ongoing, by appointment, $75-100.00 per hour.
Michael Shrieve, was
first unleashed on the music world when he played his
 now
legendary drum solo as a young 19 year old drummer with SANTANA at
Woodstock. His performance was captured on film and is now one of the most
lasting images of the entire Woodstock era. Michael has worked with a huge
variety of artists including Mick Jagger and The Rolling Stones, George
Harrison, Pete Townsend and Stevie Winwood. He will be re-joining our
regular teaching staff here at Donn Bennett Drum Studios. And will be
available for weekly lessons. It is a rare opportunity to study long term

Lessons.
Matt Chamberlain will be teaching
private lessons at Donn Bennett Drum Studio in Bellevue, WA. Matt is
