The DW Performance Series is the newest addition to the DW Drums family, featuring a brand new shell technology devised by John Good and the DW Custom Shell shop in California. Combining the latest grain orientation technology and hand-selected North American Hard Rock Maple, Performance Series' proprietary HVX shells deliver a low, punchy fundamental, with ample resonance and projection that's perfectly suited for both the live and studio setting.

Custom-inspired, with a new Quarter Turret lug, low mass die-cast claw hook, new badge, logo head and hand-sprayed Specialty Lacquer finishes, it's designed to get noticed. Easy to tune, superior sounding HVX shells, along with DW heads by Remo USA, Suspension Tom Mounts, TruePitch Tuning and DW 45 degree back-cut bearing edges, all make these drums sing. Performance sounds like exactly what you'd expect from DW.

Available in five different hand-sprayed specialty lacquer finishes: White Ice, Sapphire Blue, Black Mirra, Cherry Stain, and Ebony Stain. All of these finishes are pictured above.

 Ludwig "Standard" 1930's Reissue Snare

Ludwig Drum Company is proud to announce the limited availability of the 1930 “Standard” Model Reissue, Nickel-Over-Brass Snare Drum.  A collaboration between Ludwig and Italian goldsmith Adrian Kirchler, The “Standard” Reissue is the first snare in the modern era to use Ludwig’s original 2-pc. Shell.  “The original Standard and Deluxe models used two thin, brass sheets that were hand-rolled and joined together at the bead,” states Kirchler.  “A very strong shell was then formed using the traditional double-crimped bearing edge on the top and bottom.  This new Standard model is absolutely true to the original 2-pc shell design.” 

The original Standard and Deluxe models are –of course- more commonly known today by their modern names: Chrome-Over-Brass and Black Beauty.  After Conn purchased Ludwig and Ludwig in the early 30’s, the single-piece shell construction used today was implemented, and the original 2-pc. Standard shell became a thing of the past.

Using the same level of craftsmanship Adrian used on Ludwig’s 100^th Anniversary Gold Triumphal snares, each 5”x14”, 2-pc. Brass shell on the 1930 “Standard” Reissue is hand-made in the Italian Alps and Nickel-plated for a superior finish.  Two panels are hand-engraved using the Ludwig Triumphal “Flower” pattern, and fitted in the USA with brass-plated die-cast hoops, tube lugs, the Millennium strainer, and classic Oval badge.  Each also comes fitted in a custom, vintage-themed case.

Tama Starclassic Performer B/B Drumkits

Tama's newest Starclassic Performer series drumsets put an entirely new spin on Birch drumsets. By using bubinga wood for the inner layers of a birch shell, Tama has created a mixture that provides a new sound with a sweeter and deeper tone. The rack and floor toms are made with a 4-ply birch, 3 inner ply bubinga (6mm) shell, and the bass drums are made with a 5-ply birch, 3 inner ply bubinga (8mm) shell. The resulting 'hybrid' tone exhibits the focused attack of birch paired with the enhanced low ends of bubinga.

Features of the kit include Tama's Star-Cast Mounting System (which are now plated to match each drum shell's hardware), a sliding tom holder, die cast hoops, claw hooks, bass drum spur brackets, and air cushioned floor tom legs. All of these innovations and features allow for the maximum resonance, increased tune-ability, flashy design, and truly professional performance.
