VINTAGE COLLECTION

We have acquired a very limited number of t-shirts from the estate of Elvin Jones. They were made exclusively for Elvin Jones and members of his Elvin Jones Jazz Machine band and worn in live performances from 1975 until Elvin passed in 2004. Until now these shirts have never been available for sale. Elvin Jones never produced a souvenir t-shirt for sale to his audiences. These shirts helped define the Jazz Machine’s unified look on stage. Over the years many different styles were made. We have over 30 unique designs that were used throughout Elvin’s career.

All shirts are top quality 100% cotton and printed or embroidered front and back. Shirts worn by Elvin himself are easily identified by the fact that his shirts all say “Elvin Jones” across the back. Band member shirts say “Elvin Jones Jazz Machine”. Elvin’s personal shirts are all Large or Extra Large. Band members shirts range from M, L, XL and XXL.  Most shirts are stage worn, dry cleaned and still in the dry cleaner’s plastic wrap. Some shirts are brand new and never worn.

There are a very limited number of these extraordinary shirts. When they are gone they will never be available again. These are unique artifacts from the legacy of the most influential jazz drummer of all time. Each shirt comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the seller and a copy of a letter from Elvin’s wife Keiko Jones identifying Donn Bennett Drum Studio as the exclusive re-seller of these shirts.  Only shirts sold by Donn Bennett Drum Studio can be guaranteed authentic.
