Dave Snodgrass
Dave Snodgrass, drummer and teacher, was raised in a family of musician-educators. He spent three years in the Armed Forces School of Music and Army Band Ensembles, five years at the University of Kansas, and over 30 years working as a freelance drummer in Los Angeles and the Pacific Northwest. He has presented clinics on college campuses in Washington, California, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Idaho. Dave’s approach to teaching is relaxed, straightforward and laced with his quirky sense of humor. Building on the interests of his students, he invites their participation in the process of creating lessons that are meaningful and entertaining. Dave looks at the drums first as a melodic instrument, and believes a drummer must be aware of melody and harmony as well as feel, time and rhythm. Teaching emphasis: reading, style interpretation, feel interpretation, touch, and solo development. To schedule a lesson with Dave Snodgrass, call (425) 747-6145. |
