Ludwig Top Hat & Cane 1941 Drumset
The Ludwig and Ludwig Top Hat "Swing Sensation" drumset was produced for one year only in 1941. Scarcity of metal during World War 2 limited production to a very small number. It was considered at the time to be the absolute pinnacle of the drum set industry. The best that money could buy! To date only 12 of these sets are known to exist in the entire world. The set is considered by many collectors to be one of the rarest drum sets ever produced. The condition of this set, made in April of 1941 is excellent. The finish has yellowed slightly, the hardware shows some very minor pitting and scratching but is still shiny and clean. The shells and edges are excellent with no cracks or dents. All parts are original and in excellent condition. Legs have been added to the 16" floor tom to replace the original "basket" style stand. The inlay on one half of one bass drum hoop is a reproduction, professionally tinted to match the slightly antiqued finish of the rest of the set. The set includes the following drums. All mounting hardware is included. 11" x 7" Price - $35,000 If you have any questions about this drumset please call (425) 747-6145 and ask for Donn, or e-mail the shop at donndrum@bennettdrums.com.
