Woodstick Big Beat 2010 Welcome to the Woodstick Big Beat 2010 web page. You'll find everything you need to participate in this world record event. Our 8th annual event will be held November 7th at the Juanita Field House in Kirkland, WA. I made a promise to myself to make this year's event the best one ever. That means More Drummers, More Guest Artists, More Clinics, More Prizes, and More Craziness! We still hold the U.S. record of 533 for the most drummers playing a beat simultaneously. Drummers at Big Beat events in 15 North American cities will attempt to steal our record. Last year some of them came really close. We really need your participation to keep the record here in the Northwest where it belongs. This years event will occur simultaneously in 15 cities across the U.S. and Canada, hosted by a Five Star Drum Shop in each city. The international event will be called the Five Star Big Beat. In addition to setting a U.S record we will also attempt to set a new cumulative record for drummers playing simultaneously via electronic connection between all 15 participating cities. We could never attempt to produce an event of this scale without the support of our drum industry sponsors. They have donated over $18,000 in drum prizes to be given away at each Big Beat event this year. A total of over $225,000 in prizes! All profits from our events will go to the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation and Camp Korey. Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation supports under-funded school music programs across the U.S. Camp Korey in Carnation, WA is a camp for seriously ill children. We are proud to support both of these extremely worthwhile charities. Please see our Woodstick 2010 Fundraising Information Page for details. I really hope to see you all there. Thanx, Donn
