woodstick Featured Artists 2011 Chris Coleman - (Chaka Kahn, Independent) 
Chris Coleman has been playing drums since the ripe age of 2 years old. He traveled with his father and uncle who performed in a gospel ensemble. From his early childhood all the way through his collegiate years, Coleman has earned an innumerable amount of achievement awards, honors and scholarships for his playing. Recording credits include but are not limited to: Bishop Eddie Long, William Murphy, Tha Paradigms, and more. Since 2007 he has been the full time touring drummer for renowned Chaka Kahn and R&B artist Rachelle Ferrell. Chris Coleman endorses Meinl Cymbals and Sonor Drums. Danny Seraphine - (Chicago, CTA) 
Danny Seraphine is one of the world’s most highly-respected rock drummers, rated by the legendary Buddy Rich as one of his favorite young drummers. He was the drummer, percussionist and a founding member of the multi-million selling, Grammy award-wining band Chicago. From 1967 to 1990, Seraphine played on and helped produce 18 gold and 13 platinum albums, 50 Top 40 hits, including 20 Top 10 singles, and 5 number ones. Seraphine grew up in Chicago, Illinois and started playing drums at the age of nine, eventually studying privately with famed percussionist Bob Tillis. After forming Chicago in 1967 he continued studying the drums, first with big band drummer Chuck Flores, then with legendary jazz drummer Jo Jones. When Danny and Chicago parted company in 1990, he moved to Colorado to set up his own label and production company. Returning to Los Angeles in 2001, Seraphine continued to produce and manage recording artists, and produce Broadway and off-Broadway shows. Seraphine endorses DW Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, Remo Drumheads, and Vic Firth Drum Sticks. Chad Wackerman - (Frank Zappa, James Taylor) 
A phenomenally skilled jazz and rock drummer, Chad's professional career began in 1978 with the Bill Watrous band. Since then he has amassed a remarkable body of work including a seven year association with Frank Zappa, with whom he toured the USA and Europe and recorded 26 albums including the London Symphony recordings. Chad has also toured with James Taylor, John Patitucci , Joe Sample, Banned From Utopia and The World Drummers Ensemble (Bill Bruford, Luis Conte, Dou Dou Ndiaye Rose and Chad Wackerman) and most recently toured the USA with another ex Zappa drummer - Terry Bozzio. Chad's drumming combines the power and conviction of rock with the sensitivity and finesse of jazz. His playing is remarkably free of predictable patterns and licks, relying instead on invention and interplay with the musicians around him. Wackerman endorses Roland Electronic Drums, DW Drums, Evans Drumheads, Paiste Cymbals, Vic Firth Drumsticks, and Meinl Percussion. Jon Bolton - (The Beatniks, apple jam) 
Participating as a featured member of this year's Woodstick band, The Beatniks, Jon Bolton is back and ready to rock! Bolton has become somewhat of a staple of the Seattle music scene, peforming very regularly with The Beatniks, The Herding Cats, Apple Jam and Stella. His unique, highly emotive drumming style has garnered attention from people across the world. Anyone who has seen him play knows that it is like nothing you've ever seen before. Spend a few minutes looking Jon Bolton up on YouTube and you will see what the buzz is about. His performances are guaranteed to make you leave with a smile on your face and a great memory. We are very proud to have him once again as part of our Woodstick family. Dom Famularo - (Legendary Teacher, World Drumming AmbAssador) 
Dom Famularo has been traveling the globe preaching the gospel of drumming for over 30 years. An intense performer, Dom is one of the most respected solo drum artists in the world, with a career built solely upon his unique skills as a drummer, educator, author and motivational speaker. His sensational drumming and brilliant communications skills have earned Dom Famularo a reputation of being the world's leading motivational drum set artist / educator. Through history-making tours of China and the Far East, and with standing ovations to capacity audiences at virtually every major drumming event in Europe and the Americas, this vibrant performer from Long Island, New York is renowned for delivering entertaining and awe-inspiring performances unlike any other. In addition to large drumming expos and clinic tours, Dom is an active educator at colleges, drum schools and camps. He has performed at the Percussive Arts Society Convention (PASIC), Percussion Institute of Technology (PIT) in Hollywood California, Drummers Collective in NY, KOSA Camp in Vermont USA, North Texas State University, the Graham Cole Percussion Camp in England, and Drummers Camp in the Black Forest of Germany and many others. Seth Davis is a professional Drummer/Musician that has established his name worldwide as an educator and clinician by possessing insane speed, incredible power, innovative and musical application to polyrhythms, and complex thought provoking odd-time signature musical compositions. Seth's knowledge of hand technique has gained him the most attention. Seth currently holds the World’s Fastest Hands Record for doubles as he set a new world record of 1,200 Doubles in 60 seconds at the 2004 Summer NAMM Session in Nashville, TN. Davis is currently holding the drum throne in the New Orleans based metal band, Exhorder. The band has been through over 16 years of thrashing and since 2010, Davis has added his extreme independence, speed, and coordination to their progressive and tight sound. Adittionaly, Davis has written and released the Book/DVD combo "The Moeller Killer." This program has been very well received and is a twelve week program designed to increase speed, accuracy and focus within complex rhythms and phrases. Joey Oscar - (Independent) 
At the youthful age of three years old, Drummer Extradinaire Joey Oscar knew that music was permanently ensconced into his spirit. While growing up, he would allow himself to be mentored by the top drummers. He could always be found at his church in fellowship with the band with an extra emphasis placed on the drummer. Joey Oscar has had the pleasure of working with artists such as Micah Stampley, Lamar Campbell, James Fortune and FIYA, Vanessa Bell- Armstrong, Dave Hollister, world renowned producer Rodney Jerkins and many more. Joey Oscar endorses DC California Drums, Sabian Cymbals and Pro Mark Drumsticks. | |||||||
